Case Series-Intradural Disc in Recurrence of Lumbar Disc Prolapse and Review of Literature
1. Abstract
Intradural disc herniation is a rare entity reported at 0.04 % to 1.1% that occurs most commonly in the lumbar spine particularly at L4-L5 region. Lechowski et al presented 11 cases of intradural lumbar disc herniations from 2030 (<0.05%) patients treated surgically for intervertebral disc prolapse. The authors concluded that the frequency of intradural disc rupture is very low, it is most often found at L4-L5space, mainly in men. One case of a cervical disc herniation has been reported in the past.
