
1. Abstract
An 84 years old female (bedridden) with an old, neglected fracture of the hip was presented with lower abdominal pain. Physical examination was normal except scoliosis and kyphosis and fractured left head of the femur. Blood investigations show Hb 8.5 gm%, TLC 5500/mm3, Urea/Creatinine 20/0.8, Liver function test normal, Serum calcium 8.1 mg/dl, 25-hydroxyvitamin D 10 ng/ml PTH 110 pg/ml Ultrasound was normal for bilateral kidneys with calcified fibroid in uterus. NCCT KUB suggests calcified uterine fibroid 5 x 4.7 cm in the posterior wall of uterus. Diagnosis of Osteoporosis with hyperparathyroidism with calcified uterine fibroid was made. After counselling patient and supplementing with Calcium, vitamin D, the patient was managed for fracture head of the femur.
