1. Introduction
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths throughout the world [1]. It accounts for an estimated 2 million new cases and over one million cancer related deaths per year and accounts for almost 11% of all cancer diagnosed [2].
